Etsy advertises 6.5%. That is one of four fees. Put your real numbers in and see the whole bill.
What this does not include — read this bit
Sales tax. In the US, Etsy collects and remits marketplace sales tax itself. It is not your money and it is not counted here — but note that payment processing is charged on the gross amount including tax, so your real processing fee is a few cents higher than the figure above.
Currency conversion, 2.5%. Only if you list in a currency different from your payment account's. A US seller listing in dollars does not pay it.
The regulatory operating fee. It does not apply in the US. It does apply in the UK (0.32%), France (0.47%), Italy (0.32%), Spain (0.72%), India (0.29%), Türkiye (2.27%), Vietnam (1.24%) and Canada (1.15%).
Offsite Ads is not optional forever. Under $10,000 in the last 12 months you can switch it off. Once you pass $10,000 the 12% rate becomes mandatory, and it stays mandatory.
Listings expire after four months and renew for another $0.20. If you have auto-renew on, a sale also triggers a fresh $0.20 — that is the charge counted above.
State tax on the fees themselves. Since 1 October 2025 Texas treats Etsy's transaction fee as a taxable service: 6.25%, charged on 80% of that fee. Tick the Texas box above to include it. Other states are moving the same way — if yours has, tell me and I will add it.
One shop, one country, one currency. This is deliberately the simple case, because the simple case is the one people get wrong.
Where these numbers come from
Every rate on this page was read off Etsy's own policy pages on 16 Aug 2026. Etsy changes them without much warning, so the date matters more than the number. If you find one out of date, tell me and I will fix it the same week.
If you sell on more than one place, or you want to price backwards from the profit you need, the workbook does that across six channels and keeps the arithmetic when the rates change.
