Three rules that shut beginners down — read before you list Pinned

2026-08-031 min read

These are on the platforms' own policy pages. Dates included so you can check me.

  1. TikTok Shop prohibits digital products unless you are approved for its invite-only Virtual Goods category — gift cards, game credits, software licences. Ebooks, printables and planners are not in it. Do not list a digital item as physical to get around it; that is treated as misrepresenting the offer.
  1. Etsy lists "AI prompt bundles" among items that do not qualify for sale. AI-generated work itself is fine if you disclose it in the description — it is the prompt bundle as a product that is out.
  1. On Etsy, anything cut on a Cricut or laser must come from your own original design. A purchased SVG does not qualify, and you may be asked to prove you made it. Keep your source files.

Source: Etsy Creativity Standards, updated 10 Jun 2025. TikTok's rules are from secondary reporting — I could not read their seller pages directly, so check your own Seller Center before you rely on it.

Being straight with you: MockWren sells five AI prompt packs. By rule 2, none of them could go on Etsy. They are on my own site, where my rules apply. Felt wrong to post this and not say so.
